A fantastic being who hugs a baby boy to its breast, together with a dying baby. La Sinera is a play on words on the word “ SIRENA” and endows this merciful gorgon who plucks children from under the sea with that title. The only hint of colour is in the red of the clothes of the children who confront the sea crossing, a colour chosen by their parents in case of shipwreck. The sculpture is made from a fine dark clay which keeps its colour after firing.
